Description
This article will assist a technician or end-user with performing a factory reset of the Polycom SoundPoint 301 IP phone.
Prerequisites
NOTE
You will need to have the device physically present to perform the steps listed below.
SoundPoint Model 301, 501, 550, 600, 650, 670
WARNING
THE STEPS BELOW ARE IRREVERSABLE ONCE EXECUTED
- Reboot the device by unplugging/replugging the power/PoE ethernet cable.
- As soon as the Welcome message appears, press and hold the 4, 6, 8 buttons.
- Release them once the Enter Password screen appears.
- In the Enter Password area, enter the phone's MAC address (using CAPS, and no spaces or colons) Example: ABCD12345678
- Press the Ok softkey.
- Your device will restart with with factory default configurations.

- Press the Ok softkey.
- Your device will restart with with factory default configurations.
Known Issues
- If there is a TFTP server specified in the DHCP offer on the network the device is connected to, the factory-default device may obtain a provisioning profile upon first boot.
More Information
- These devices went End of Life in 2018 and end of service date in 2023.
- No vendor/commerial support is available for this product.
